Its structure is made of aluminum with a base made of galvanized iron, which gives it great stability. It is covered with a water-repellent fabric that can be easily removed like a stocking. "When I think about the design of an industrial object, I often think of other uses and habits of daily life. One day, as I was putting on my socks to exercise, it occurred to me that this gesture could be the simplest way to wrap an arched structure, thus creating an umbrella," explains its creator, Alejandra Gandía-Blasco.
