For this project, Mario Bellini was inspired by a fundamental elementary structure of architecture. His design imitates the portico of classical architecture, where a series of columns supports a portico, in this case a table top. The base is a self-contained volume, although it is materially open.
Viewed from a different angle, the perception changes completely, as the columns no longer overlap and the room appears empty.
Originally designed exclusively in a classic material such as marble, Kettal uses two other materials for its more modern version.
